While we have enjoyed remarkable and rapid growth in Horry County, our infrastructure has not been able to keep pace with that growth. Whether it is our roads or our schools, we are behind in the building and repair of critical infrastructure needs.

My belief is that we need to reevaluate the current tax structure to see if the funds being brought in now can be better spent and allocated to meet the needs of our growing population. I am a fiscal Republican who does not believe more taxes is always the answer.

Growth must be responsibly planned and overseen so as to mitigate as much as possible the burden on our lagging infrastructure.

As a retired educator, I understand keenly the importance of a safe and effective learning environment. There can be no place in the classroom for teaching Critical Race Theory or it’s tenets by any other name, nor can we allow Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to muddy the minds of our greatest assets… our children.

Teaching our students that they are either oppressed or the oppressor is at odds with the purpose of our education system. Students should be learning to become productive citizens with equal access to the opportunities our state offers. We should not have a caste system that is designed to divide our children into rival camps.

As your State Representative, I will work hard to block all attempts to remove the power vested in parents, by God, to decide what is best for their children.

I am a Christian and firm believer that all life is precious. It will be my highest honor to work on the effort to defend every unborn child and ensure that he or she can grow to his or her full potential.

Psalm 139 tells us that we are, “Fearfully and wonderfully made” and I believe this carries us from the womb to the tomb.

Each of us are created by God, uniquely designed by God, and have a specific purpose in this world.

While other leaders from our region have not followed through voting for bills that would protect innocent lives, I have the right priorities.

HUMAN TRAFFICKING and immigration

While South Carolina is not geographically a border state, we are no less affected by what is occurring at
our Southern and Northern borders.

We are seeing a flood of illegal immigrants coming across our border at an alarming rate. This causes a multitude of problems not least of which includes human trafficking, with Horry County having the highest amount of cases in South Carolina!

The Federal government has lost over 85,000 children in the last three years alone. These children are often forced into sex slavery or other unfathomable horrors.

It will be a top priority to ensure that Horry County has the resources necessary to protect our citizens from potential drug trafficking, human trafficking, and the real threat of a terrorist attack.

Several of the constituents in SC House District 61 have reached out to express their confusion as to what exactly is the position in South Carolina on the Second Amendment.

Our Founders made clear that we have a God-given right to own and carry weapons for our defense!

It will be my commitment to see that right is protected in SC Law, as it is in our US Constitution. There can be no confusion as to which supersedes the other in supremacy.
